What to look for in bamboo bowls
- Size and depth. The round bowls come in eight sizes: 7, 10, 11, 12, 14, 18, 20 and 30cm, and the variant list marks the 11cm and 14cm as deeper bowls. The square bowl is 14cm, and the Heart-Shaped Bamboo Plates & Bowls come in 10cm and 18cm. For small portions, the Small Bamboo Dishes & Bowls 8cm are 3cm deep and hold 60ml, and the Egg-Shaped Bamboo Dishes are 8 x 6cm and 2cm deep. The boat bowls are 30 x 14cm and 4cm deep.
- Shape and what goes in it. Go by what each page lists: salads, rice dishes and desserts for the round bowls; street food, fish and chips, loaded fries and nachos for the boat bowls; dipping sauces, condiments and olives for the egg dishes; wedding cake slices and desserts for the heart shapes. The square bowl's page describes a rimless design, and the small dishes have a raised rim.
- Wet or saucy food. The round bowls' page lists wet foods, sauces and curries, and calls the bowls liquid and oil resistant. The square bowl's page says it handles wet, dry, oily and spicy dishes. The small dish, egg dish, heart-shaped and boat bowl pages each say liquid and oil resistant, with a leak-proof design.

What are bamboo bowls made from?
Areca palm leaves. The round, small, egg-shaped, heart-shaped and boat bowl pages say fallen areca palm leaves, and the square bowl's page says 100% areca palm leaf. The square bowl's page also says every bowl has its own colour and texture.
Can bamboo bowls take hot food?
The Round Bamboo Bowls page lists hot foods up to 150°C and says the bowls are microwave and refrigerator safe. The Square Bamboo Bowls 14cm page says suitable for hot and cold foods, microwave safe and oven safe for reheating.
